So Long Philly Spectrum

I think the my first Spectrum show was a Sixers Bulls game in 1971 when they were horrible. Like most that grew up in Philadelphia, the Spectrum was the Mecca for growing up, whether it was the circus, Flyers, Sixers or the hundreds of concerts. The last concert I saw was Linkin Park and the crowd had changed so much. No more reefer clouds or lighters. Just kids texting each other and using their cell phones as light, rather than the Bic lighters we used.
The Spectrum closes tomorrow Halloween with Pearl Jam. It's somewhat bittersweet that this final curtain call will be overshadowed by the Phillies Yankees World Series game across the street.
I'll miss ya Spectrum....

The above photo is from last March final Sixers game against the Bulls oddly enough. So many great (and hazy forgotten) memories sandwiched in between.

Cute photo. I didn't know that the Spectrum was closing.
