Lahaina Maui
Sailing to Maui from the Chesapeake Bay may be to big a task for the bucket list. I'll start off with a coastal cruise to Key West, and hopefully the crossing to Havana.Mummers Parade 2012 TV shot of us.
While editing down the video of the stringbands that were on WPHL 17 TV I grabbed this screen shot of our crew that at the moment was all together and acting well behaved. I'm in the Eagles hat waving the flag!
Happy New Year from Captain Jimmy CraicHeadAmazing hawk near Clark Park West Philadelphia
I was lucky to be passing an amazing hawk who was chilling on the grounds of a special ed school adjacent to Clark Park in West Philly today and how luck I was to have my new Canon 95 camera to get a few shots. It would be nice to know the hawk is in residence in the hood for a while, or was he/she just passing through looking for a stray kitten for lunch.
September Sailing on the Chesapeake Bay
We caught a beautiful Saturday on Labor Day weekend 2011 to go sailing and try out my Contour HD camera. Winds were a steady south 10-15 knots and we had a consistent boat speed of 6-6.5 knots. Having the camera attached to a head band made it much easier and safer to roam the boat and work the sails. Boat is pulled for the winter now but this video will keep me looking forward to next season.
Meeting Smoking Joe Frazier July 20 1991
As a life long Philly person born and raised, I've had the opportunity to run into many celebrities that have lived here. Charles Barkley, Teddy Pedergrass, Pete Rose and even Muhammed Ali (Ali lived a few blocks away from us in Overbrook for a mere 7 months in 1971). But one of the more special ones was "Smoking" Joe Frazier who I first ran into at the Charles Barkley Celebrity Roast on July 20 1991. My friend Ari snapped a pic at the event of us, and a few years later I ran into Smoking Joe again in the now defunct American Appliance in South Philly. I chatted him him a bit and mentioned the framed photo of us in my living room. He told me to stop up to the gym he ran in North Philly and he would autograph it but sadly I never took him up on his offer.
